Icelandic Knits is a lovely collection of patterns from 8 Finnish designers presenting their own interpretations of Icelandic knitting. Within the 18 sweater patterns, you'll find some patterns that are more traditional, and others take a more creative approach to Icelandic knitting.

Known as a lopapeysa, an Icelandic sweater is hand-knitted from Icelandic wool and is often worn as outer wear. Similar knitwear has been used in other Nordic countries and modern Norwegian sweaters have many of the same features that are found in Icelandic knitwear.

If you are new to Icelandic wool, browse our selection of Lopi Yarns here. Icelandic wool is known for its ability to repel water and creates a wonderfully warm fabric.
