Threads of Memory: Knitting with Meaning is a beautiful collection of patterns, stories, and knitting inspiration. In this book, author and designer Claudia Quintanilla explores how we preserve memories and express emotions through what we create and wear. Every handmade piece tells a story, reflecting the maker through thoughtful yarn and color choices, individual stitches, and even the little imperfections that make it uniquely ours. Each project is an opportunity to create memories, develop skills, and craft timeless pieces to be worn and loved for generations.
This book welcomes you into Claudia Quintanilla’s unique blend of tradition and artistry. It features 18 modern and versatile designs inspired by nature, literature, and memories from different moments in Claudia's life.
About the Designer: Claudia Quintanilla is a yarn shop owner and knitwear designer based in Toronto, Canada. Originally from El Salvador, Claudia found Canada's colder climate to be the perfect setting for knitting. However, it wasn’t until she stayed at home to care for her young daughter that she found the rare combination of pleasure, tranquility, and passion in knitting. This journey culminated in the founding of her Toronto-based brick-and-mortar yarn shop, Eweknit & Craft.
“My goal was to create exceptional pieces, each sweater beautiful even without embellishments but adorned in ways that evoke dreams and memories — special moments filled with joy, gratitude and passion.”
