Lopi yarn is the perfect yarn to make all of those durable and cozy garments that you want to have for years to come. This volume features classic Lopapeysa sweaters and fresh modern takes for all ages, including men, women, and children - each designed to showcase the unique warmth and resilience for Icelandic Wool.
These beautiful patterns use Plötulopi, Léttlopi, Einband, and Alafosslopi, all available here at The Woolly Thistle, and all designs are by Védís Jónsdóttir! Whether you're drawn to the geometric elegance of Straumur, the earthy simplicity of Berg, or the bold structure of Grettir, Lopi Book 41 is a rich source of creative inpsiration. Not to mention, it includes the pattern for the Ris Vest which is an amazing design popular among Thistlers!
Please note: yarns included in this book are Lettlopi, Álafosslopi, Fjallalopi, Einband, and Plötulopi, all of which we carry here at TWT. One design calls for Jöklalopi which we do not carry.
About Icelandic Wool: Icelandic wool consists of two types of fiber. The inner fiber is fine, soft, and warm and the outer fiber is long, glossy and water-repellent. Together this combination is lightweight and warm as well as water-repellent and breathable, keeping you dry, warm, and comfortable.
Icelandic wool is a natural product created on environmentally friendly principles. Care is taken throughout the manufacturing process. Only natural energy sources, such as geo-thermal and hydroelectric power, are used in the production of Icelandic wool, while the sheep from which the wool is harvested still graze freely in summer, as they have always done.
Most adult sweaters in this book are written for sizes XS - 2XL. Kid's sizes are written for 74cm - 92cm. Baby sizes range from 62-74cm.
This is a lovely book, however I didn't know if the chest sizes in the patterns were for the person or the garment. I sent a msg to Woolly Thistle and got NO response which was disappointing. I then went direct to the Lopi people and they replied by return.
