Perfect Pairings: Pressed Flowers Pullover

Perfect Pairings

We can't resist playing a bit of matchmaker with TWT yarns when a fun new pattern comes out. Do you do this kind of dream knitting, too? Indulge us a little bit as we lay out the yarns and colors we would put together for a project we're just itching to get on our needles!

Then take our suggestions to put together a sort of à la carte kit from our online shop, or use them as a jumping off point for your own sweater planning!

Have you all seen the new addition to Amy Christoffers' (@savoryknitting) Pressed Flowers collection? By now you probably know we love her mosaic flowers motif in the shawl, hat, cowl, and cardigan. Released just a couple weeks ago, now there is a pullover version!

The Pressed Flowers Pullover calls for two contrasting colors of DK weight yarn, one in a solid and one in a color-changing variegated color. Retrosaria Brusca would fit wonderfully as the solid color - it's woolly and rustic while also being bouncy and comes in some fun new shades. Paired with Junction Fiber Mill's Making Tracks as the variegated color-changing yarn, there are lots of great possibilities here!

Below are a few of the colorways we think would be stunning, and below the images are the amounts you will need to purchase depending on your size. You will also find a link to the pattern's Ravelry page so you can read all the little details and purchase the pattern directly from Amy.

Happy planning!

Color Combinations for the Pressed Flowers Pullover

Pressed Flowers Pullover by Amy Christoffers with Brusca and Making Tracks

Shown here is Brusca color C580 and Making Tracks color Zinnia. This combo would get you something quite close to the original colors, though the Zinnia will have more bright pink and coral pops than the original contrast color.

Retrosaria Brusca color B570 is a beautiful blue. Paired with Making Tracks Hydrangea would give a lovely bright sweater. Doesn't the flower motif look a lot like hydrangea flowers already??

Retrosaria Brusca color C574 is a nice forest green. Paired with pastel Making Tracks Pebbles would show off the soft flowers nicely.

Pair Retrosaria Brusca in color C570 (a deep blue/green/gray) with the lush Making Tracks Summer Shade for a springy yet still somewhat neutral combo.

I´ve purchased the written pressed flower pullover instruction by Amy Christoffers. Is there a tutorial available for the first few YOKE rounds. The charts + German short row instructions don´t come out clear enough for me. I love that pattern. Would need some help. Greetings from Austria, Hilde
