Shetland Shades: Stories in Wool is a fantastic collection of textured knitwear from beloved Shetland designer, Gudrun Johnston. This collection features rich colors and versatile constructions for 12 fabulous layering pieces from vests to hats and scarves. The colors and motifs throughout the designs are inspired by the rural Shetland landscape. You'll be transported to expansive seascapes, foggy morning pastures, and breezy rolling hills.
In addition to the patterns, Gudrun has written personal essays giving an in-depth look into her pattern design process, her newfound interest in sewing, and Shetland's knitting heritage. Whether you're looking for pattern inspiration, color combination ideas, or a behind the scenes look into the knitting practice of one of our favorite designers, Shetland Shades will be a delightful addition to your knitting library.
