Saloia is the native sheep breed to the region of Lisbon and Setúbal. It has been well documented since the 19th century as its wool was one of the finest available in the country. Saloia sheep have also become famous for their milk, from which the favorite Azeitão cheese was traditionally made.
Shades A, B, C, and BC are natural (not dyed). Like all of Retrosaria's yarns, Brusca is non-superwash and unbleached.
I am currently knitting a shawl and I couldn’t find enough yarn in my stash that I wanted to use. I did have some Brusca but I needed more. I have been using it for the first time and I am very pleased with it. It’s is a perfect yarn for many projects. It is comfortable in my hands, and the stitch definition is excellent. It’s a little scratchy but I think it will be perfect after blocking. It’s lovely for my shawl, perfect for a sweater, not too heavy, and would work well for color work. I believe I will knit a vest next. It’s a great new find for me.

Delightful
I tired the Retrosaria sock yarn previously and loved it, so I decided to try the worsted. I love it also. Knits up with nice even stitches and a firm fabric. There is a lot of veg matter, but that doesn't bother me. The color I chose is a soft blue/green. I am using it to knit a vest.
