At The Woolly Thistle, we celebrate the timeless tradition of making with wool and natural fibers, and we are delighted to welcome Pickles yarn to our offerings. Pickles is a yarn maker based in Oslo, Norway.

Pickles Sommerull is a lovely blend of merino lambswool and organic cotton, creating a unique, soft, and lightweight yarn. The merino wool to add bounce and elasticity, your garments will keep their shape. This yarn was specifically developed for Nordic summers and we can't wait to add this knitted fabric to our spring and summer wardrobes. As we know, wool is a fantastic temperature-regulating material, keeping you cool in warm weather and providing warmth when it's cold. Pickles Sommerull is the perfect sport weight yarn for your spring and summer pieces.

Exactly what I hoped!

I’m knitting the Audrey in Unst vest by Gudrun Johnston. The color, Terracotta, was exactly what I’d hoped it would be, a soft orange. The yarn is soft, as expected with this blend, and knits beautifully. I hit gauge in the pattern recommended US#4, but am using a US#3 on the purl side to avoid rowing out (my fault in knitting, not the yarn’s fault). The twisted rib is stunning in this yarn.
