The Linden Cardigan by Melody Hoffmann is an easy-to-wear wardrobe staple for the cooler months, and we love how it comes together with woolly Sølje to make a lightweight and beautifully textured garment. Linden was designed in collaboration with Melody's patrons, giving her a design challenge that resulted in a cardigan that's a pleasure to knit up and wear for years to come.

Knit with Hillesvåg Sølje, a fingering weight Norwegian wool spun from pelt sheep—a heritage breed known for its fine, silky fibers and natural luster. Sølje is soft, airy, and warm without heaviness. It's ideal for textured patterns with beautiful stitch definition, and we've put together a variety of colorways for you to choose from.

Construction note from Ravelry: The cardigan is worked flat as the texture features a slipped stitch in garter stitch. So it goes very fast because there’s minimal purling involved. The button band is worked at the same time as the rest of the body, so there’s no stitches to pick up afterwards. My favorite part (and the most challenging to figure out in terms of designing) is the next shaping, which is done using German short rows.
