Shetland Heritage and the Natural Collection recreates the original characteristics of handspun ‘wursit’ used in old Fair Isle garments. This light fingering weight yarn is replicated from that found in knitted Fair Isle garments in the collection of Shetland Museum and Archives.
Made in UK. 100% Real Shetland Wool.
Please remember that every effort is taken to represent the true colors of the yarn and that monitor settings will vary.
Jamieson & Smith is in the process of updating their labels. Depending on our available stock, you may receive yarn with a pale yellow label or the updated white label. The updated labels indicate 120 yards and the older version indicates 132 yards.
This yarn is lovely and has been a joy to knit. I am working on a lace project, so I look forward to giving my project a good was and block to bring out the texture. The color, Madder, though accurately represented in the picture, was more rich and beautiful when I received the yarn. I have ordered a few times from Wooly Thistle and will continue to do so as my projects require. They are so fast in fulfilling the order and shipping it out. I am really impressed and thankful. On my current project, I had mis-read the pattern and ordered one skein short of what was needed. When I discovered my error, I ordered that last skein from WT and had it within a week. I look forward to ordering more yarn for future projects!
I love the natural color
