Designed by Kristin Drysdale and inspired by her Scandinavian heritage, the Ingeborg Slippers feature a charming floral colorwork motif and a cozy, textured fit. Knit in Rauma Strikkegarn, they’re a satisfying project and a wonderful handmade gift.
Kristin’s clever sole construction will have you purling in colorwork with confidence while practicing techniques including catching floats, backward loops, single crochet, and simple hand sewing.
This design is knit with Rauma Strikkegarn, a classic Norwegian wool yarn beloved for its warmth, durability, and soft, woolly character. It's perfect for snug slippers that last. Choose one (or two) of the colorways that we've curated, and your yarn set will arrive tucked inside a TWT Tote with a Woolly Thistle stitch marker.
This Yarn Set Includes:
This yarn set does not include the pattern which can be purchased directly from the designer on Ravelry: Ingeborg Slippers by Kristin Drysdale
Construction Info from Ravelry: Ingeborg has the easiest sole to knit because the purl side repeats the pattern of the previous knit row. So if purling in colorwork is new to you, you don’t need to look at the chart which gives you extra brainpower to focus on purling in colorwork.
Sizing Info: Women’s 6-8
If you need a larger size, knit on a larger needle to get 22- or 23 stitches over 4 inches. This will increase the length and the width of the slipper. When the slippers are felted, they don’t shrink in length as much as they do in width. The pattern has finished measurements before and after felting.
Colorways:
101 & 110 (warm white and black)
101 & 114 (warm white and dark grey)
103 & 123 (natural light grey and deep forest green)
155 & 159 (sky blue and rich dark blue)
As always, it is important to manage gauge to ensure you will have enough yarn. If you are worried you can purchase an extra skein. Please remember that every effort is taken to represent the true colors of the yarn and that monitor settings will vary.
Our knitting kits are specially curated with all the yarn and inspiration you'll need to complete your project
