Frequently Asked Questions

A Knit-Along (KAL) is when a group of knitters work on the same or similar projects at the same time while learning from and supporting each other.

The Colorwork Accessories KAL cast-on day is February 7th, and we'll have a Facebook LIVE that day where we'll kick things off. The KAL ends on March 23rd - you have until midnight ET (give or take) to complete the FO Form.

Please let us know you're participating by signing up for free on this page. Once you are signed up, we will send you your free pattern and a couple of KAL related emails.

To share your project and see others' projects, join our Facebook and/or Ravelry group or on Instagram, use the hashtag #2025TWTColorKAL so we can all find you! You can follow that hashtag as well to see others' work.

To be eligible for prizes, there will be a simple FO Form to fill out!

This KAL is for all-over colorwork accessories, including home accessories! Think scarves, hats, mittens, socks, shawls, hot water bottle covers, cushions, tea cosies, bags, etc! Choose any pattern you like.

We have many yarn sets and kits suggestions here and we're adding more soon!

We also have a Ravelry bundle of pattern suggestions here. Feel free to add your own!

To be eligible for prizes, project should mostly be made with TWT yarns (around 80% or more).

Accessories include scarves, hats, mittens, socks, shawls, mitts, hot water bottle covers, cushions, tea cosies, bags, etc! Choose any pattern you like!

Qualifying projects include colorwork on the majority of the accessory. Knit or crochet using any colorwork technique including stranded knitting, Fairisle, Mosaic, 2-color Brioche, Intarsia, and Colorwork Crochet.

Stripes are not included.

The Woolly Thistle is offering a chance to win one of three fabulous prizes for those who submit the FO form.

1st Prize: $75 Gift Card to shop at The Woolly Thistle!

2nd Prize: Colorwork Yarn Sampler - 2x 25g balls each of J&S 2ply Jumper Weight, Jamieson's Spindrift, and Marie Wallin British Breeds 4ply.

3rd Prize: A TWT Fan Pack - a TWT small tote, SSK lip balm, stitch marker set, and stitch stoppers.

Prize Fairy:You might also notice the Prize Fairy buzzing into our Facebook and Ravelry groups from time to time. As an extra bit of fun, we'll be popping in with a $10 gift card for a few participants who are active in the groups and helping others.

Winners will be randomly selected from those participants who complete the FO Form. When your project is complete please click here to complete the FO (Finished Object) Form. If you complete more that one qualifying projects in the timeframe, please fill out the form for each project.

All winners will be chosen from people who have signed up with us and completed an FO From. This form will be available soon.

You are still welcome to join us if your project doesn't fit these requirements (you bought the yarn elsewhere, your project isn't technically an accessory, etc). The point is for everyone to join in, feel welcome, and knit and learn together! However, only qualified finished projects will be considered for the prizes at the end of the KAL.
