Manchelopis Unspun Yarn is made from 100% wool from Manchega and Castellana sheep. This rare and unique yarn is twist-free, creating a delicate knitting experience that results in an amazingly light yet warm fabric. WoolDreamers produces this beautiful yarn from sheep raised in Castilla-La Mancha, Spain, and mills it in the same region.
- Breed: 100% wool from Manchega and Castellana sheep
- Weight: DK; approx. 252 yds / 100g plate
- Finish: Unspun
- Care: Hand wash; lay flat to dry
Manchelopis is delicate because it's unspun, but don't let that put you off. Carefully unwind your wool from the plate without tugging, knit that section, and then unwind a little more. If your wool breaks, simply overlap the two ends and twist or spit-splice them back together and carry on. Once knitted, the fabric is strong yet soft.
Manchelopis is wound into plates with two plies, making it a DK-weight yarn. The plies can also be separated and worked individually for a light fingering-weight fabric, effectively doubling the available yardage.
