We are thrilled to present Marie Wallin's new yarn: British Breeds Aran. This soft and bouncy yarn, in the perfect color palette, is exactly twice as thick as Marie's British Breeds 4ply, making it what we know as a worsted weight here in the US. At $11.95 per ball, it is a more affordable way to knit heavier weight garments using Marie Wallin's British Breeds!
Like the British Breeds 4ply, this yarn is composed of the perfect blend of British Breeds, making it great for knitting cables or Fairisle colorwork.
Marie Wallin's new book, Aran, is a beautiful collection of 12 designs especially designed for her British Breeds Aran Yarn.
You can browse the book here in our shop!
Colorwork Kits for Marie Wallin's Aran designs will be available on April 26th.
Please remember that every effort is taken to represent the true colors of the yarn and that monitor settings will vary.
Love the color and how it feels. I would try different colors for another future project.
I loved working with Aran yarn as I knitted a Marie Wallin sweater named Seahouse. The colors in the yarn complement each other and I like the stitch definition. I highly recommend this yarn for color work.
British Breeds Aran is a lovely yarn to work with. It's soft to the touch the colors are vibrant, especially the Russet, Quince and Chestnut. Not to mention that they (all the colors) match when they are together making it a lot of fun to knit with, especially when you see the results.
Our knitting kits are specially curated with all the yarn and inspiration you'll need to complete your project
We love curating new yarns for you from around the world! See the latest additions to The Woolly Thistle!
