The Vanilla's Big Sister Sweater by Corinne Tomlinson is everything knitters have come to love with the Vanilla Sweater, but now at a bigger gauge with far fewer stitches and a squishy, wearable fabric. Pattern Details:

Sizing: This simple top down raglan sweater is available in nine sizes.

Finished chest circumference: 
34½ (39, 43¾, 48, 51¼, 57, 62, 66¼, 70½)"  88 (99, 111, 122, 133, 145, 157, 168, 179)cm

This sweater is intended to be worn with approx 4-6 in / 6-15 cm of positive ease. Shown in size 3. If you’re unsure of which size to knit, add 4-6" ease to your chest measurement OR measure a sweater that has the fit you would like, and compare to finished chest circumferences listed above. 

Yarn:

The sweater is knitted holding two strands together. Rauma Fivel which is a worsted weight yarn is held together with Rauma Plum and is knitted on a US 10 or size needed to meet gauge. The finished sweater is a relaxed fit with bracelet length (easily customizable) sleeves, round neck, and split hem. 

Total Yardage Requirements if using 1 strand (bulky weight) or 2 strands (worsted weight held with lace weight mohair/silk):
545 (654, 763, 872, 981, 1090, 1199, 1308, 1417) yards

Gauge:

With one strand of each yarn held together, 15 sts and 20 rnds / rows to 4"/10cm, in stockinette stitch, worked in the round and flat, after blocking

Needles & Notions:

  • US 10 (6mm) long circular needle and DPNs, for body and sleeves (or whatever size needle to obtain gauge. Length depends on the size you are knitting.*
  • US 8 (5mm) short circular needle and DPNs for neck edging and cuffs
  • Stitch markers
  • Blunt tapestry needle
  • Waste yarn or stitch holders

*For the body, we recommend a circular needle 24 (32, 32, 40, 40, 40, 40, 40, 40)" / 60 (80, 80, 100, 100, 100, 100, 100, 100) cm long

Skills Required:

Cast on, Join in the round, Knit stockinette, Add new yarn, Knit Front Back (KFB), Bind off.
