The Woolly Thistle is pleased to offer all 9 of the natural shades of Shetland Supreme yarn.
This Jumper Weight yarn can be used in patterns calling for fingering weight. It feels crisp while knitting and softens with washing and wearing. This yarn can also be used in tandem with 2ply Jumper Weight, in all the colors!
Please remember that every effort is taken to represent the true colors of the yarn and that monitor settings will vary. PLEASE NOTE 'SHETLAND BLACK' IS A VERY VERY DARK BROWN AND NOT A TRUE BLACK.
I love working with this yarn! I love how it softens after a wash. Well worth the extra cost. I am knitting the Paul Klee sweater with all the shades.
This yarn makes it a breeze to learn to two handed knit color work or Fair Isle. I was very hesitant at first after taking a class at NC fiber fest. I had seen a pattern I really liked called Wilkins. I went ahead and bought the yarn from The Woolly Thistle and well…. I can’t say enough about how easy it is to use. The yarn literally sticks to the newly wrapped finger you’re not used to knitting with that two stranded/handed knitting seems natural!
I was intrigued by Kate Davies' Sheep Heid hat using all 9 of the natural Shetland Supreme colors and I'm not disappointed. It is so much fun to have the whole array of colors to play with and to watch the patterns emerge as I work with this lovely bouncy wool! Best colorwork yarn I've used!
Our knitting kits are specially curated with all the yarn and inspiration you'll need to complete your project
