Here at The Woolly Thistle, we know and love John Arbon Textiles and the gorgeous yarn produced at their mill. Now available in our offerings from John Arbon is Appledore Aran. Appledore is thoughtfully composed of specific breeds to create a yarn that is rustic with beautiful luster and a woolly halo that is bouncy and soft. The 3-ply structure creates a round yarn that will make those cables pop! Durable and pill-resistant, this yarn is perfect for the garments and accessories that see a lot of wear.
While this is called Appledore Aran, it is what know as a worsted weight here in the US
- BREEDS: 40% Devon Closewool, 40% Romney, 20% Exmoor Blueface
- LENGTH: ~183 yards (167 meters) / 100g skein
- WEIGHT: Worsted*
- Sourced and Made in the UK
*While this is called Appledore Aran, it is what we know as a worsted weight here in the US.
