Vaddel Cardigan or Sweater by Gudrun Johnston in Jamieson & Smith 2ply

The Vaddel Cardigan and Sweater by Gudrun Johnston is a versatile pattern for a knit cardigan or sweater featuring slip stitch striped colorwork. The Vaddel is a cropped knit with a thoughtful construction that allows the front neckline to lay lower than the back, and is perfect to wear through the seasons.

Gudrun Johnston is a celebrated Shetland-born designer with a gift for creating gorgeous textured designs with Shetland wool. She designed this sweater using another Shetland wool and we've curated this yarn set to be similar to her original color choices. These yarn sets use Jamieson & Smith 2ply Jumper weight yarn, a 100% Shetland Wool spun to a fingering weight.

All the yarn needed to knit the Vaddel Cardigan is thoughtfully packed in a TWT tote with a stitch marker. This project is a joy to knit from start to finish with a blend of timeless design and beloved Shetland wool.

Construction Information from Ravelry: Both versions are worked top down with compound raglan shaping in the yoke. The sweater is worked in the round (after neck shaping) and the cardigan back and forth (for the body). The sleeves on both versions are worked in the round.

Sizing: 

Size 1: Up to 38" (11 balls)
Size 2: Up to 41.25" (13 balls)
Size 3: Up to 44.75" (15 balls)
Size 4: Up to 51.25" (17 balls)
Size 5: Up to 58" (19 balls)
Size 6: Up to 64.75" (21 balls)
