Ennerdale Cowl is a vibrant and warm cowl inspired by simple ornamental design. If you are new to Marie Wallin's designs or to Fairisle Knitting, this is a wonderful cowl to get on your needles first.

This Kit Includes:

  • All the British Breeds yarn called for in the pattern (14x 25g balls)
  • The Woolly Thistle small tote
  • Digital Download of the pattern. Convenient for enlarging charts!
  • Qualifies for FREE SHIPPING in the US!!!

For other lovely designs in this collection, consider adding the Westmorland Book to your order!

Construction: Ennerdale Cowl is knitted in the round and is a perfect project for the novice Fairisle knitter.

As always, it is important to manage gauge to ensure you will have enough yarn.  If you are worried you can purchase an extra skein of the main color! Please remember that every effort is taken to represent the true colors of the yarn and that monitor settings will vary.

Photo includes a selection of Marie Wallin’s British Breeds. It may not be the exact balls included in your kit. Your kit  will include all yarn needed for your size selection.

Please note this product contains a digital download that is not able to be returned or refunded.

From the Westmorland book: "Ennerdale is named after one of the most remote valleys in the Lake District. Rising out of the coastal plain of West Cumbria, Ennerdale is one of the wildest places in England and is home to beautiful Ennerdale Water."

I agree with Jennifer on the colors

Jennifer, who left a review about the actual yarn color vs. the picture, is absolutely correct. The picture shows the colors as lighter and brighter than the yarn actually is. I was not sure it was the yarn in the kit! Having said all that, the colors I received are muted and rich, certainly more fall colors, and really quite lovely. I certainly will keep the kit. I look forward to seeing it finished!

Thanks for your review Martha! We're glad to know that you are so happy with the yarn and kit. We make every effort to portray colors as accurately as possible, but understand that everyone's monitor may show things differently than they are in real life. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

Couple tips.

I love this kit and cowl, but two things. First, the colors in these photos are much brighter than they are in person. I think all of Marie Wallin’s photos are a bit overblown. The second thing is that if you want a longer cowl that you can double, buy 2-3 additional skeins of the MC, Silver Birch.
