The Woolly Thistle is proud to offer Marie Wallin's book, Cumbria. This collection features 11 Fairisle and stitch textured designs by Marie using her BRITISH BREEDS yarn. The patterned designs in Cumbria are largely inspired by Eastern European folk art and Far Eastern textile and carpet designs mixed with more traditional motifs. 

Cumbria is a very special collection because this is Marie's first collection to include menswear! This collection includes 3 men's sweater designs, 2 cardigans and one all over colorwork sweater. 

New to the Cumbria collection is an extended size range.  The women's designs are now able to be knitted in 7 sizes - S through to 3XL and the mens designs in 8 sizes - XS through 3XL.  The women's size range is S, M, L, XL, 2XL, and 3XL to fit bust 32-34 in, 36-38 in, 40-42 in, 44-46 in, 48-50 in, 52-54 in, 56-58 in.

The men's size range is XS through 3XL to fit 38-40 in, 40-42 in, 42-44 in, 44-46 in, 46-48 in, 48-50 in, 50 - 52 in, 52 - 54 in.

Included in the price of the printed book is a downloadable PDF version, so that you can enlarge the charts without having to spoil the printed book.  We will email the PDF upon request after your order is processed!

In an effort to be more environmentally friendly, this book is printed free of coating or treatment so the pages have a matte finish.

Welcome addition to my library

I've been gradually collecting Marie Wallin's books and this is an excellent addition. I also appreciate the fact that she gives you the option of requesting a companion PDF e-book when you order one of her books so you can print individual patterns and charts and keep the book in good condition. The Woolly Thistle shipped the hard copy quickly and Graidi provided the PDF very quickly as well, so that I had the patterns even before I had the hard copy. I'm very satisfied with the purchase and the customer service.

I resisted for awhile, but decided I needed this Marie Wallin book anyway!

I was a bit underwhelmed when this book was first released. However finally gave in and glad I did. Perusing the book - everything much more attractive to me!

I also want to complement The Woolly Thistle on shipping and packaging. I literally received the book in one day - from NH to MA seems like nothing but this was extraordinary. I've ordered a number of books from The Woolly Thistle previously and although the books were mostly in good shape - nothing to really complain about - there was more care with the packaging this time and the book was received in pristine condition.
