Einband is a Lopi yarn, spun in Iceland from those hardy Icelandic Sheep. You may already know and love Lettlopi and Plötulopi yarn, and Einband is the lace weight yarn from the same magical fiber. Einband can be knitted with the single strand, held double, and it's also commonly held with unspun Plötulopi or Lettlopi to add strength or achieve a marled look.
Einband is ideal for shawls, light garments, and lace knitting. Like all Lopi yarns, Einband is made from Icelandic wool. Each Icelandic Sheep's fleece is comprised of two types of wool, one being longer and course providing tough, water repelling qualities, and the other fiber being softer, adding snuggly warmth to your fabric. The knitted fabric will be durable, lightweight, and breathable, while still providing warmth. After soaking and blocking your swatch or project, you'll find the fabric softens.
