Berwick is a wonderful design in Marie Wallin's Aran Collection. Knit with Marie Wallin's British Breeds Aran yarn this cozy and easy to wear design can be worn as a cardigan or jacket. British Breeds Aran is a 100% wool yarn and is equivalent to a worsted weight in US terms.

Berwick uses a twisted stitch geometric design, and is accentuated with an ornamental Fairisle border. This cozy cardigan is the perfect style for all of those chilly days!

From the Aran book: Berwick is named after the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed on the border between Northumberland and Scotland. It is the most northernly town in England and is renowned for its Elizabethan walls, bridges and wild beaches. 

Construction: Knitted in the round with steeked armholes and a steeked center front.

Sizing: To Fit Bust Measurements 

Size 1 - Up to 42" (20 balls)
Size 2 - Up to 50" (24 balls)
Size 3 - Up to 58" (27 balls)

Selecting the correct amount of ease is very personal. Please choose a size based on your own preferences. As always, it is important to manage gauge to ensure you will have enough yarn. If you are worried, you can purchase an extra skein of the main color! Please remember that every effort is taken to represent the true colors of the yarn and that monitor settings will vary.

I wanted a challenge

I received all this beautiful yarn but no instructions for the pattern/download were provided. And I looked everywhere. I purchased the entire book and I am waiting to receive it so I can start my sweater.
Today is Wednesday 1/29 and I received a response from THE WOOLEY THISTLE regarding my previous review and they were more than gracious, sending me another PDF of the pattern. They had responded when I first wrote the review but I missed it because it went into my spam folder. I now have the complete pattern for The Berwick Sweater and I had knit a swatch yesterday. The yarn is WONDERFUL to work with and it has a soft hand. I'm finding it difficult to not pay attention to anything BUT knitting. I will do business with this company again as they respect their customers and have a delightful stocklist of very fine yarns. Thank you for your positive response and you now will have a loyal customer.

Beautiful yarn and book.

I ordered the kit, and am thrilled to received it. The yarn is next to skin soft and the beautiful colors are photo true. The pattern book is lovely, it would be a dream to make every project. The surprise for me was the project bag with the Woolly Thistle logo and a stitch marker. I will be shopping here again soon!
