Textured Knits by Paula Pereira is a book from Laine featuring a thoughtfully curated collection of contemporary and timeless handknits. The 20 fascinating patterns in this collection include a variety of inventive ways to combine different textures, such as cables, colorwork, and embroidery. The result is a versatile knitwear collection that features stunning yet delicate elements. In true Laine-style, the knits are beautifully photographed and presented, creating a book that is a great addition to your library with so many projects to cast on!
About the Designer: Paula Pereira is a Brazilian knitwear designer. She is currently based in Luanda, Angola, where she lives with her husband. Paula is constantly inspired by the textures, colors, and motifs she sees around her, especially in architecture and art, which she then turns into stitches. Textured Knits is Paula’s debut book.
As a knitter I am drawn to patterns with texture and depth in stitches. I enjoy cables and manipulating the stitches. I think it looks elegant and interesting. This book has plenty of choices if you like to try new techniques. I also emailed Paula via her website and received a prompt and kind response. The book is relatively expensive but I am choosy and believe it is well worth it.
