A Make-Along (MAL) is when a group of makers work on the same or similar projects at the same time while learning from and supporting each other. Similar to a Knit-Along (KAL), but we want to consider crochet, weaving, and other types of making!
The 2024 Gift Make-Along opens on October 15th. Signup on this page and begin your making right away. Maybe you've already started making or beginning the planning process. That's okay too! Either way, sign up and join in the community and joy of knitting this season!
There is no official end date and some of us might be knitting right down to the wire. We will randomly draw a prize winner from the signup list on November 30th! Remember, this winner is chosen at random and is not an indication that one project is better or worse than another. We believe all knitting is good knitting!

To share your gift knits and see others' projects, join our Facebook and/or Ravelry group or on Instagram, use the hashtag #2024TWTGiftMAL so we can all find you! You can follow that hashtag as well to see others' work.
The holidays are hectic enough without a bunch of rules and guidelines. We want our first ever Make-Along to be loose, fun, and as inclusive as possible. You are free to make any project you'd like.

We also have a Ravelry bundle of pattern suggestions here for some great colorwork accessories that we feel would make amazing gifts. Feel free to add your own!
This is a very inclusive Make-Along. Any item you are making for a gift this holiday season qualifies, even if you're making something for yourself!
Yes! One $50 gift card to The Woolly Thistle will be awarded to a lucky recipient on November 30th. The prize winner is selected at random from people that have signed up.
