The Woolly Thistle is proud to offer Marie Wallin's book, Westmorland. This collection features 10 Fairisle and stitch textured designs by Marie, using her BRITISH BREEDS yarn. The pattern designs in Westmorland are largely inspired by European ornamental design and Far East textile and carpet design, along with mixtures of more traditional motifs. The plain textured stitch designs are inspired by traditional twisted stitches and cables. This collection includes:
The Westmorland Collection is named after the historic county of North West England from the 12th century until 1974 when it became a part of Cumbria. Some of the new and exciting features of Cumbria, have continued in Westmorland. You'll find the six newest colors of British Breeds used in these designs, the inclusion of menswear, and an extended size range for the women's designs.
The women's designs are now able to be knitted in 7 sizes - S through 3XL and the mens designs in 8 sizes - XS through 3XL. The women's size range is S, M, L, XL, 2XL, and 3XL to fit bust 32-34 in, 36-38 in, 40-42 in, 44-46 in, 48-50 in, 52-54 in, 56-58 in. The men's size range is XS through 3XL to fit 38-40 in, 40-42 in, 42-44 in, 44-46 in, 46-48 in, 48-50 in, 50 - 52 in, 52 - 54 in.
In an effort to be more environmentally friendly, this book is printed free of coating or treatment so the pages have a matte finish.

This is a beautiful project and will be my first Fair Isle attempt.
The booklet came carefully packaged and contains some beautiful designs. This is a gift for a friend and I think she will really enjoy it! The Woolly Thistle has great products.
