Rauma Fivel yarn is a lovely worsted weight, lightly spun yarn which produces garments that are soft and airy. This woolen spun yarn is Rauma's softest wool yarn, and is particularly suitable for braids and structures. Garments knitted in Fivel become even softer after washing and are also suitable for felting. As big Rauma fans, we are really loving this yarn!

If you are looking for some inspiration for knitting with Fivel:
I’ve been knitting a Rauma Fivel sweater (from TWT kit) and I’m noticing the yarn plys splitting apart. I’m at a loss as I’d like to keep knitting it but unsure what to do about the breakage. I’ve missed some of them and have noticed two holes in my WIP. It’s a colorwork sweater but I’m not pulling tightly whatsoever and I didn’t rewind the yarn so I can’t imagine that is why this is happening. This is such a bummer. It would be a fantastic yarn otherwise. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Hi Carolyn,
We're very sorry to hear you're having issues with your yarn breaking. Rauma Fivel is one of our favorite yarns and we'd love for it to be one of your new favorites too. If you can please email us at info@thewoollythistle.com and provide pictures of the yarn and plys separating, we'll do our best to identify the problem and help you get back to stress-free knitting!

Delightful yarn
I have bought this yarn multiple times because I love the hand feel and then wearability of it. It wears very well + cables pop on it (which is shocking)
I am also currently using it in the place of lettlopi for a sweater for my partner and its working wonders there!

My favorite sweater
The yarn is true to color in the picture online (lighting in one of the photos I took is dark). It softens when washed and is very comfortable, drapes nicely and feels light but keeps me warm. I knitted matching sweaters for my dog and myself and get compliments whenever I wear it.
