The official 2025 Shetland Wool Week knitting pattern has been announced: The Aal Ower Toorie! We are delighted to join the excitement and offer yarn sets for this gorgeous design in the "Vintage" colorway using Jamieson's of Shetland Spindrift yarn. 

The Shetland Guild of Spinners, Knitters, Weavers and Dyers has been named as the official Shetland Woolweek patron for 2025. The 2025 Shetland Wool Week knitting pattern was designed by member, Rachel Hunter, and inspired by a traditional vintage allover pattern from the 1930s - blending historical motifs with a contemporary aesthetic.

Design and Name Inspiration: "The inspiration for the Aal Ower Toorie came from last autumn's popular 'Allover' exhibition by Chris Morphet at the Shetland Museum. The exhibition photographs clearly depicted the strong design and vibrant colours of vintage Fair Isle knitwear and this is what we wanted achieve in our hat. Building on the allover theme we replicated a 1930s pattern from the Guild publication, A Shetlander's Fair Isle Graph Book, as the basis for our toorie. The hat features a diamond grid allover pattern. The name Aal Ower Toorie not only highlights the design's continuous pattern but also pays tribute to our Guild members, who reside 'aal ower' Shetland." ~Elizabeth Williamson, Chair of the Shetland Guild of Spinners, Knitters, Weavers and Dyers
