After finishing my own Silver Forest, I thought it would be fun to offer a kit for you to knit your own too! The Silver Forest was designed for Brooklyn Tweed yarn, but I knitted mine with Jamieson & Smith Supreme which is a wonderful yarn. Just be sure to swatch so you can take your own tension and change of yarn into account.
This Kit Includes:
- All J&S Yarn needed to knit your chosen size (Please note sizes offered are bust measurements for the finished garment.)
- Large Woolly Thistle project tote
- Stitch Marker - selection varies
CC1: 2005
CC2: 2001
CC3: 2009
Please note the pattern is NOT included in this yarn set, but can be purchased from the designer on Ravelry: Silver Forest by Jennifer Steingass
Pattern description from Ravelry:
Construction:
This seamless, circular yoke sweater sweater knit in the round is a top down hybrid. Designed to have a relaxed fit with 2-5” of positive ease at bust. You can choose between 3 options for body shaping: Subtle hourglass shaping, straight body, or a-line, and there are 2 options for neckline styles: ribbed or rolled neckline. The knitting starts with a provisional cast on with waste yarn using a simple long tail cast on. No additional skills are needed for this method (called COWYAK) and the transition between the directions in knitting is completely invisible. The stranded yoke is worked and then the neckline is bound off. Next, the body and sleeves are worked top down from. With this method of construction, the sweater has live stitches at the neckline and edges of the body and sleeve cuffs. This makes for easy customization of body and sleeve lengths and neckline width.
Finished Measurements:
Bust circumference: 34.75 (38.5, 42.5, 46.5, 50.5, 54.5)” / 86.5 (96.5, 106, 116.5, 126, 136.5) cm
Sizes listed are actual finished sweater measurements. Choose a size with recommended ease of 2-5”
/ 5-12.5 cm larger than your actual bust measurement. Shown with 3” / 7.5 cm ease. Additional measurements in schematic on page 10.
