The lustrous fiber of Scotch Mule is the shining star in this trio of lightly textured 4ply yarns. Spun on its own in Geal, or with just a hint of complimentary fiber in Glas and Corca, their lightness of tone makes them perfect for emphasizing textured stitches. Or use them together for the softest colorwork.
Scotch Mule is a first-generation cross from a Blue Faced Leicester ram and a Scottish Blackface ewe; producing a large and hardy sheep with surprisingly soft and lustrous wool. Carded and spun on Uist Wool's heritage machinery, it turns into a lofty and textured yarn with a lovely sheen.
