    Rauma Strikkegarn Yarn is Rauma's 3ply DK weight yarn.  Rauma yarn has been spun since 1927 in Norway.  The town of Veblungsnes in Møre og Romsdalis is located in fjord country on the Rauma River on the west coast of Norway.  

     

    The company started with 3 employees and continued to develop over the years.  The textile factory was completely destroyed by bombing during WWII at which time a new factory was immediately erected.  The factory and company was completely overhauled in the 1970s.

    The Woolly Thistle is delighted to offer Strikegarn in several basic shade.  Please send us an email if you would like a specific color and we'll order that for you and the shop.  This yarn is excellent for color work and comes in big bouncy 50g balls.  It's also perfect for the long stockinette knitting of garments.  It is said this yarn lasts for years and doesn't pill.
