Embellishing involves modifying a garment to make it uniquely ours: a deeply personal and creative way of reflecting our memories of people, places and traditions in our making. 

This book invites us to discover the magic of Claudia Quintanilla’s unique blend of tradition and artistry. It features 19 enchanting designs inspired by her childhood in El Salvador — from lush orange trees on her grandfather’s farm to the memory of her mother's soothing voice. Through thoughtful embellishments, such as embroidery, lace, beads and crochet, elegantly simple designs are transformed into magnificent, one-of-a-kind pieces.

About the Designer: Claudia Quintanilla is a yarn shop owner and knitwear designer based in Toronto, Canada. Originally from El Salvador, Claudia found the colder climate of Canada to be the perfect setting for knitting. However, it wasn’t until she stayed at home to care for her young daughter, that she found the rare combination of pleasure, tranquility and passion in knitting. This journey culminated in the founding of her Toronto-based brick-and-mortar yarn shop, Eweknit & Craft.
