Yarn and Product Details:
The Woolly Thistle Rambler (United States)
Brand new colors are here and you can have first access to the Zinnia colorway in your Hot Summer Days Sock Bag! Zinina is a bright pop of color that is cheery addition to the Rambler color palette.
You may already know The Woolly Thistle's house yarn, Rambler gets its name from those hardy hill-walkers all over Britain who "ramble" around the countryside either on their own or with other like-minded ramblers. Dorset wool is the base, giving Rambler a bouncy, slightly rustic feel with the addition of Corriedale and Romney for softness and strength. Our 3-ply fingering weight yarn is strong enough for socks but versatile enough for a wide array of projects.
John Arbon Exmoor Sock Yarn (United Kingdom)
A current and trusted favorite at The Woolly Thistle, John Arbon’s Exmoor Sock is everything we love in a woolly workhorse yarn— durable, and full of character. Spun in Devon, this yarn features a thoughtful blend of Exmoor Blueface, Corriedale, and Zwartbles wool with just a hint of nylon for added durability. The result is a bouncy, soft-yet-sturdy yarn with a natural fleck and excellent stitch definition.
Each 2025 Sock Bag includes two 50g skeins of the same color, perfect for a complete pair of beautifully rustic socks.
Lichen & Lace 80/20 Sock (Canada)
Lichen & Lace 80/20 Sock is a beautifully hand-dyed yarn made in small batches on Canada’s east coast. Each skein is a work of art, blending modern color with a rustic soul, and hand-dyed with the care and nuance Lichen & Lace is known for.
Spun from 80% eco-processed organic merino and 20% recycled nylon, this 3-ply yarn strikes the perfect balance of softness, strength, and sustainability. The subtle color shifts and playful pops of color make this yarn a joy to knit.
Schoppel-Wolle Admiral (Germany)
Schoppel-Wolle Admiral is a classic sock yarn—trusted, versatile, and made with care in Germany. Spun from soft superwash Merino wool sourced from Patagonia and strengthened with biodegradable nylon, Admiral delivers comfort without compromise.
With its smooth feel, excellent stitch definition, and lasting elasticity, this yarn is ideal for hardworking socks—and equally at home in baby knits, shawls, and lightweight sweaters. It’s durable, easy to care for, and a true staple for any wool-loving maker.
